Guide for Applicants

Before starting the application, read the Colac Otway Shire Grants Program guidelines, click HERE 

Refer to the program Guidelines for information on the funding streams, eligibility, what funding is available for and requirements for the application.

NOTE:   One application per organisation may be submitted to the Grants Program.  Select the most relevant funding stream to apply to.

Incomplete applications and/or late applications will not be considered.

Allow sufficient time to prepare and submit your application before the closing date and time.

Prepare for your application early

You may require the following before starting your application.

  • Read the Guidelines to check the eligibility of the organisation and the project activity.
  • Prepare the budget - list all Expenditure items (mark items that the grant funds will pay for) and Income sources (comment on income sources if they are confirmed or unconfirmed).
  • Have you got a dollar-for-dollar matching contribution?  This may be cash, or cash / In-kind for eligible community activities that directly relates to the delivery of the project.
  • Provide evidence of the cash contribution.  A bank statement for all grant requests and for grant requests over $5,000 also provide a copy of the Treasurer's report or audited financial statements.
  • Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency for the project activities, if applicable to your project.
  • Quotation/s or detailed cost estimate for the project expenses to cover the value of the grant & your matching contribution.
  • Support letters, if partners or other key stakeholders are involved in the project.
  • Non-incorporated organisations will require a letter of consent from an Auspice.
  • Landowner / land manager consent if you do not own or manage the land, infrastructure or asset and the project activity is not included in a management agreement or lease. 
  • ABN or ATO Statement by a Supplier
  • Ensure previous Acquittal Report is completed. If there is an outstanding Acquittal, please contact the Grants Officer before proceeding with the application.
